Locations

What is a Location

In Discovery, a Location represents a physical place in the world, with a valid mailing address, where Services maybe rendered.

Locations are tied to both a Client Company and a Client Account. They may also have many Services associated with them throughout their lifecycle.

Customers using our Revenue features can charge Location Fees on their Client Invoices.

How do I?

Location Details

Name

This is the name of the location. It's used throughout Discovery on several screens and often the primary identifier for a Location.

Address

This is the physical address of the location.

Property Type

This is the type of property the location is. It's often used for reporting and filtering. Each material type (trash, recycling, etc.) has separate pounds-per-yard conversion factors for commercial vs. multi-family properties. Waste density norms differ between the two, so Discovery uses the appropriate factor when estimating pickup weights from container size and fullness. Choosing the wrong type will produce inaccurate weight estimates.

Sticky Notes

Sticky notes are a way to add notes to a location. These notes are visible to your entire team.

Metadata - Custom Fields

In Discovery, you have the capability to include custom fields within locations. These fields serve to store supplementary information, such as the count of beds, units, or other location-specific details.
