How do I Copy a Service?

Copying a service lets you quickly create a new service by copying details from an existing service.  It saves time when a new service is identical or very similar to one you already have.

When Should I Use This?

Use Copy + Create New Services when:

  • You want to add a similar service at the same or a different location
  • Most settings will stay the same
  • You want to avoid re‑entering fees, notes, and documents

This comes in handy when two sites have identical or nearly identical services.  It is particularly useful when a location changes ownership and is now under a new client company.  Once you create the new client company and location, you can simply copy over the services.

What Does NOT Get Copied

These items are never copied to the new service:

  • Incidents
  • Work Orders
  • Pickups
  • Vendor invoices or memos
  • Client invoices or memos

Each new service starts fresh for these items.

How to Start

  1. Go to the Service View Page for the service you want to copy
  2. Select Actions
  3. Click Copy Service

You will be taken to a new page to confirm details of the new service.

  1. Select a New Location, Effective Date and add an optional External Reference ID.

  1. Use the toggles to decide What to Copy to the new service.

You Can Copy:

Vendor Service Fees

  • All vendor service fees will be copied to the new service

Sticky Notes

  • Notes will be copied

Documents

  • Documents will be copied

Client Service Fees

  • Recurring fees → will be copied
  • One‑time fees (not yet billed) → will be copied
  • One‑time fees (already billed) → ❌ will NOT be copied
  1. Use the toggle to select whether or not to terminate the original service.

    • If you choose to terminate the original service, you will be prompted to select a Termination Date, who requested termination, and reason for termination.
    • If you choose to not terminate the original service, it will remain active.  No changes will be made to the original service.
  1. Click on Next Step to proceed.
  2. Review and edit the new service details.
  3. Click on Create Copy to finish creating your new service.

Final Tips

  • Always review copied fees before saving
  • Check that the location and effective date are correct
  • If you terminated the old service, confirm the date is correct

If something does not look right, you can edit it before saving the new service.
