Allocated Values

Allocated Values represent the value from each Allocatable Fee on a Vendor Invoice that's been allocated towards a given Service Charge on the invoice. These Allocated Values contain an All in Cost field that represents the sum total of the Service Charge + the sum total amounts allocated to that charge from each Allocatable Fee.

Key Attributes

  • Vendor Invoice : This is the Vendor Invoice under audit.
  • Service Charge: An Extraneous or Commercial Service charge line item associated with the allocated value.
  • Allocatable Fee: The Allocatable Fee that whose value was Allocated across the Service Charge.
  • Type: A string that represents the type of fee allocation. This can be either "unit" for unit-based fees, "percentage" for percentage-based fees, or "fixed" for fixed value fees.
  • Amount: The monetary that was allocated from the Allocatable Fee to the Service Charge.

How does this work?

When allocating a Vendor Invoice, Discovery will roll the Allocatable Fees on the invoice into the Charges (Roll Off, Commercial, and Extraneous) in order to arrive at the All in Cost for each charge. The All in Cost represents the true cost of the service charge (what the customer is actually paying for each service) on the invoice. It's this value that is used when auditing a Service Charge against the contractual rate (base charge, roll off per haul rate, or roll off tonnage rate) defined on the Service.
