Introducing Our Newest API
Our Newest API Is Here
We've just launched the newest version of our API — /api/2027-07-01 — live now at manage.discoveryapp.io/docs/api/2026-07-01.
Why this release matters
This is our most powerful API yet, built for full feature parity with the Discovery app front end — anything you can do in the product UI, you'll now be able to do through the API. Compared to earlier versions, it covers significantly more endpoints, is more reliable, and is built on a cleaner, easier-to-use foundation.
Full documentation and migration guides are available now: manage.discoveryapp.io/docs/api/2026-07-01
Getting started: create your API token
First step for any integration is generating a token:
- Open your profile menu and go to the API tab.
- Click New Token, choose an access level — Read & Write or Read Only — and give it a descriptive name.
- Copy the token and use it to authenticate immediately ; it won't be shown again.
A note on stability
This version isn't frozen yet. As people start using it, we may find things worth adjusting — a field, a bug fix, a detail we didn't anticipate — beyond what we can predict today. If we make a change that affects you, we'll notify you before it goes out.
What this means if you're already integrated
- On v1? Nothing changes for you today. v1 remains fully available with no retirement date announced. That said, v1 covers a more limited set of endpoints than this new version — migrating when you're ready will unlock a lot more of what the platform can do.
- On the Beta API? The Beta API is being retired on January 1, 2027. If you're still on Beta, start planning your migration to the newest API now.
Also in the works
We're building an MCP (Model Context Protocol) tool for deeper integrations with your existing stack. No timeline yet, but it's in progress.
