As part of Discovery's comprehensive waste and recycling solutions, it provides a diverse set of Standard Reports that aid users in monitoring and analyzing their waste management data. These reports span various categories, encompassing environmental and sustainability metrics, weight and volume analyses, cost breakdowns, vendor expenses, and temporary reports.

Environmental & Sustainability

Under this category, users can access reports that provide information on Gresb, EnergyStar Properties, EnergyStar Meters, and EnergyStar Meter Usage.

  • Gresb | Tracks landfill, recycling, hazardous and non-hazardous disposal amounts for locations over time in the GRESB format.
  • EnergyStar Properties | Allows property locations to be uploaded to the EnergyStar portfolio, treating each location in Discovery as a property for the EnergyStar custom template bulk property uploader.
  • EnergyStar Meters | Provides meters to upload to the EnergyStar portfolio, treating each service in Discovery as a meter for the EnergyStar custom template bulk meter uploader.
  • EnergyStar Meter Usage | Shows meter usage to upload to the EnergyStar portfolio, using the monthly activity for each service in Discovery for the custom template bulk meter bills uploader.

Weight, Volume, & Cost

This category includes reports that cover client weight by service and month, compactor monitor savings by service, contract savings by service, monitor impact by work order, and service activity savings by location.

  • Client Weight by Service and Month | Provides clients with a detailed breakdown of waste generated by service and month. This information can help clients identify areas where they may be generating excess waste and implement measures to reduce it.
  • Compactor Monitor Savings by Service | Discovery's Pioneer compactor monitors are highly useful tools for managing compactor haul frequency and efficiency. This report helps clients determine the savings generated by installing Pioneer compactor monitors. By tracking the number of hauls avoided, clients can calculate the savings in both time and money.
  • Contract Savings by Service | Shows clients the savings generated from making changes to their waste management contracts by service. By analyzing this data, clients can determine which services are generating the most savings and make informed decisions about future contract negotiations.
  • Monitor Impact by Work Order | Analyzes the impact of Pioneer monitor installations on Work Order efficiency. By tracking the number of work orders generated before and after the installation of Pioneer monitors, clients can determine the impact of the new technology on their operations.
  • Service Activity Savings by Location | Shows clients the savings generated from activities and changes to services by location. By analyzing this data, clients can identify which locations are generating the most savings and implement measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.

Vendor & Expenses

Reports under this category cover audited vendor invoice details, audited vendor invoice summary, expiring vendor contracts, vendor invoices by account per month, extracted invoices by account, extracted invoice details, and duplicate extracted invoices.

  • Audited Vendor Invoice Details | Shows line item details for audited vendor invoices. Clients can use this report to gain a better understanding of their expenses and to identify any potential issues or discrepancies. Overall auditing cost savings can be deduced from this report.
  • Audited Vendor Invoice Summary | Provides a summary of audited vendor invoices for each month, allowing clients to see their total savings after audits. It offers a convenient way to track and measure cost savings from waste management practices.
  • Expiring Vendor Contracts | Displays vendor contracts that are expiring soon, helping clients to stay on top of their contracts and avoid any disruptions in their waste management services.
  • Vendor Invoices By Account Per Month | Allows clients to search for missing vendor invoices by account number and fiscal period. It offers an easy way to ensure that all vendor invoices have been received and processed.
  • Extracted Invoices By Account | Enables clients to search for missing extracted invoices by account number for a given time period. It offers an easy way to ensure that all invoices have been properly processed and accounted for.
  • Extracted Invoice Details | Extracts vendor invoice data and line items from pdf documents and images. It helps clients to quickly and easily access the information they need to manage their vendor invoices and expenses.
  • Duplicate Extracted Invoices | Extracts vendor invoice data and line items from pdf documents and images to identify any potential duplicates. It helps clients to avoid overpaying for services and materials by catching any duplicate invoices.

Temporary Reports

This category comprises reports that are currently not designated as permanent fixtures in the Standard Reports section. As Discovery's standard reporting requirements evolve, the inclusion or exclusion of these reports may change.

Revenue & Clients

Tenants who subscribe to Discovery's Revenue tier also have access to the following reports, which cover client invoices, sales tax liabilities and profit margins.

  • Client Invoices Summary | Provides a summary of invoices to your clients, ordered by date.
  • Client Invoices with Associated Vendor Invoices | Shows the relationship of a client invoice to any vendor invoice(s) that originated a charge contained on the client invoice.
  • Client Line Item Details | Provides information about individual client line items.
  • Sales Tax Liabilities | Provides information about sales taxes charged to your clients.
  • Profit Margin by Client Company | Shows revenue, vendor costs, and profit, broken down by Client Company.
  • Profit Margin by Location | Shows revenue, vendor costs, and profit, broken down by Location.
  • Profit Margin by Service | Shows revenue, vendor costs, and profit, broken down by Service.

Upon selecting a Standard Report, Discovery offers you Search, Filter and Toggle options to help tailor the report data to your specific needs. The Search function allows you to isolate specific records within the report by searching for keywords or phrases. The Filter options enable you to refine the report data further based on specific criteria (e.g. date range, location, service, vendor, etc). Depending on the Standard Report, you may have access to various Toggle options that enable you to display or hide multiple records based on a specific binary criteria. For instance, you could choose to show only credits or hide certain types of data, making it easier to focus on the information that is most relevant to your needs. These tools empower you to extract the exact information you need from the report, allowing you to focus on what matters most for your business.


After applying all desired Search, Filter, and Toggle options, simply click the Export to CSV button to export the data in a format that is compatible with Excel. You can find your exported files conveniently located under the My Profile > Data Exports section.


Discovery's Standard Reports offer clients the necessary tools to make informed decisions and improve their waste management practices, whether it's through tracking environmental and sustainability metrics or monitoring vendor invoices and expenses. These reports cover a wide range of waste management data and provide valuable insights into their operations. However, as each client's needs may differ, they may require highly specified reports to properly manage and report on their waste management data. For this reason, we offer the Custom Report Builder feature, which allows clients to tailor reports to their specific needs and requirements.
